A Pause Worth
Actually Pausing For

Many travelers passing through India already plan to stop in Rishikesh — it's a natural, meaningful place to slow down on a longer route. The question is what you do once you're there: a quick course squeezed between destinations, or 28 days that actually changes how you move through the rest of your trip, and the rest of your life.

Yoga Vedanta Trust's lineage runs through Swami Gopal Sharma's personal training at Swami Dayanand Ashram — a real teaching tradition, not a tourist-circuit add-on. You leave with an actual Yoga Alliance certification, not just a story.

Visa & Entry
for Israeli Citizens

Israeli passport holders need an Indian e-Tourist Visa, applied for entirely online. Israel has held e-visa eligibility since the scheme's 2014 expansion, and "attending a short-term yoga programme" is explicitly listed as a valid purpose for this visa category.

1
Apply online
Use the official Indian government e-visa portal. Approval typically arrives within 72 hours, though the government allows up to 3–5 business days.
2
Choose the right length
A 30-day e-Tourist visa covers a 100hr or 200hr course comfortably. If your trip is longer, the 1-year multiple-entry option may suit a multi-stop itinerary better.
3
Carry your approval
Your e-visa is linked digitally to your passport. Bring a printed copy as backup, along with your passport (valid 6+ months from arrival).
4
Arrive through Delhi
Indira Gandhi International is an e-visa-designated airport. From there, fly to Dehradun or take the overnight train to Haridwar — we can help arrange pickup.

Visa rules can change without notice — always confirm current requirements on the official Indian government e-visa portal before booking non-refundable flights.

What Past Students Say

"I came as a skeptic. What I found was Swami Gopal Ji sitting cross-legged at 5:45am, utterly present. By day 28, I was a different person. Not better — clearer."

Common Questions

Do Israeli citizens need a visa for yoga teacher training in India?

Yes. Israeli citizens need an Indian e-Tourist Visa, applied for entirely online. Israel has held e-visa eligibility since 2014, and short-term yoga programmes are explicitly listed as a valid purpose for this visa category.

How do I get to Rishikesh as part of a longer India trip?

Most travelers fly into Delhi, then take a short flight to Dehradun or the train to Haridwar, both about 30 minutes to an hour from Rishikesh. It fits naturally alongside Delhi, Agra, and McLeod Ganj on a North India route.

Can I join mid-trip, without flying from home first?

Yes — most of our international students are already traveling when they apply. Just let us know your current location and we'll help you plan the most practical route to Rishikesh.

Is the RYT 200 from India recognised internationally?

Yes. Yoga Vedanta Trust is registered with Yoga Alliance USA (RYS 200 and RYS 300), recognised by studios and wellness employers worldwide — not just in India.

What if my travel plans are flexible — can I book close to the date?

Batches are small (max 15) and do fill up, but we're happy to discuss availability for upcoming dates over WhatsApp, even on short notice.

What's the best time of year to add this to a trip?

October through March is peak season with the most comfortable weather. April–May and September also work well if your route brings you through then.
