Why Train in Rishikesh

Study at the Source,
Not a City Studio

Mumbai and Pune have world-class studios and instructors, but almost none offer a full month living and practicing on the Ganges. Rishikesh gives Maharashtra-based practitioners a genuinely different kind of training -- residential, immersive, and rooted in an actual lineage.

Please note: every course on this page is 100% residential and takes place only at our campuses in Rishikesh or Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. We do not run any in-person classes, workshops, or training in Maharashtra itself -- this page exists to help students from that region plan their trip to train with us in Rishikesh/Uttarkashi.

Trained Where Yoga Began
Rishikesh sits on the Ganges at the foot of the Himalayas and has been a center of yogic study for centuries -- not a converted city studio.
📜
Yoga Alliance Registered School
Yoga Vedanta Trust is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS 200 and RYS 300). Graduates register directly as RYT 200 or RYT 300, a credential recognized by studios across India and abroad.

🏡
100% Residential, Not Commuting
You live, eat, and practice on-site for the full course. No commuting between a hotel and a studio -- the entire experience is contained in one place, the way an immersive training should be.

What Indian Students Say

"I came as a skeptic. What I found was Swami Gopal Ji sitting cross-legged at 5:45am, utterly present. By day 28, I was a different person. Not better — clearer."

"Waking at 5:45am to the Ganga. Shatkarma. Then 90 minutes of Hatha as the sun rose over the Himalayas. This rhythm changed me permanently."

Germany · 200-Hour TTC

"The 300-hour program — Vedanta philosophy, Sanskrit, Yoga Nidra — is extraordinary. This is not a tourist package. This is a serious school."

Questions Indian Students Ask

How do I travel from Mumbai or Pune to the training location?
The most convenient route is a direct or one-stop flight from Mumbai or Pune to Delhi (around 2 hours), followed by a short flight or a 5-6 hour road journey to Rishikesh. We share detailed travel guidance once your batch dates are confirmed.
Is this suitable for students who currently teach in Mumbai or Pune studios?
Yes -- a number of our graduates already teach in Indian metro studios and use our 200-hour or 300-hour programs to gain a globally recognized Yoga Alliance credential alongside their existing experience.
How do I travel from my city to the training location?
Rishikesh is served by Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun), roughly 35 minutes away, with regular flights from Delhi and other major cities. Overnight trains and buses from Delhi to Haridwar/Rishikesh are also popular and economical. Uttarkashi is reached by road from Rishikesh or Dehradun, roughly 6-7 hours by car through Himalayan scenery.
Is my certification recognized across India and internationally?
Yes. Yoga Vedanta Trust is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS 200 and RYS 300), so graduates register as RYT 200 or RYT 300 with Yoga Alliance -- a credential recognized by studios across India and internationally.
Does training happen locally in my city, or only in Rishikesh/Uttarkashi?
All residential training takes place only at our campuses in Rishikesh or Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. This page exists purely to help students from your city plan their trip to train with us at our actual campus.
